Oludeniz Beautiful Beach

The world famous and one of the most beautiful wonders in the world Ölüdeniz, worths travelling miles and miles, for the turquoise blue waters wonderful lagoon. The crysyal pure water of Ölüdeniz is so clean that it is almost cleaner than the water you drink at home -if we omit the salt-. Ölüdeniz consists of two parts: First part is Belcekiz or Belcegiz which lies too long through the bay to the lagoon. This part is the wavy part of Ölüdeniz. The second part is the real Ölüdeniz with the lagoon inside. This part is the calm and shallow part.
Ölüdeniz is 12 km. from Fethiye. Here, with all kinds of water sports (canoe, surf, skiing, banana, parashute), you can also play beach-volley.
All along the Belcekiz beach, -a bit more expensive- you can find everything to eat and drink. The bars and restaurants are everytime ready for your service. The place which is called the Blue Lagoon is a National Park, which is fee-payed passing. Again, there are lots of things to eat, drink, and again, full of entertainment like water sports and beach volley, showers and WC. Besides, Ölüdeniz, is one of the most ideal places in the world for Paragliding. To make this sport, you don't have to be experienced. All you have to do is, to choose which company to fly with, among lots of the agencies including Turkish Aeronautical Association. If you don't have a licence to fly, you will have your first experience with a licenced and experienced pilot. The pilots do everything for you. All you have to do is just to enjoy the beauties of Ölüdeniz and take lots of photographs from 1400-1700m. height. The flight takes about 30-45 mins. And will cost you about $100. Olu Deniz

I have just returned from holiday in Oludeniz. I agree the sea is a wonderful color, beautiful turquoise. The weather too was lovely while I stayed there, temperatures around 37c and hot sunshine all day.
The weather at Oludeniz cools nicely in the evening as the sun sets early behind the hills. This makes it just right for an evening meal out in one of the many restaurants in the resort.
The food was very good indeed, a good mix of traditional Turkish and western food was available. vegetarians were also well catered for.
The beach at Oludeniz is largely sandy but with pebbles as you approach the sea. In the sea, the water dips suddenly, so be careful when bathing as you could soon find yourself out of your depth.
The beach at the lagoon is almost all pebbles, which are difficult to walk on and get very hot in the sun.
In fact, the lagoon is a big disappointment. It is surrounded by sunbeds and sunshades. It is full of pedaloes and canoes and all the worst trappings of tourism, including a rather obnoxious fast food cafe in what is supposed to be a nature preserve. Inevitably, this leads to some pollution which can be seen around the shore.
Oludeniz is a great resort for sun and sports such as paragliding, white water rafting or microlighting.

I have been to olu deniz three times now and fell in love with it straight away,we stayed at the turquoise hotel which is just beautiful, the rooms were sparkling clean, the gardens immaculate and the pool so inviting.
The turkish people are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much for them,
I loved days lazing by the pool but also welcomed the breeze laying on the beach, the lagoon is stunning and so relaxing.
I have not been back since having my daughter two years ago but have made it a priority that olu deniz will be her first holiday destination,we can't wait to go back.

I have been to Olu Deniz two times before. My fiance hase been over five times. The pebbly beach is hard to lie on but there are always sun loungers availiable (at a small cost). The main beach as a large dip when going into the water however this is not the case in the blue lagoon nature reserve part.
There is very little variety of fish in the water so be disapointed if you go for snorkelling! These are the only bad points I can think off. It has wonderfull weather and beutiful senery.
There is loads of activities availiable for the more adventurous. Paragliding, microlights, ringos and all the usual water activities. There is always trips you can take which you can buy in town - remember to haggle though!
A boat trip is a must. For these you can just turn up in the morning on the sea front or pre book. Try to get a boat with less people on, these tend to be the smaller ones. This is a really cheap way to enjoy your experience. A must for everyone.
A very enjoyable experience - just be firm with the pushy people and watch out for the trip to the sea which is down the side of the mountain!

The resort was great the hotel spectacular. Pity the Travel Company was not of the same standard. They let us down big time it was out Honeymoon and they left us high and dry at Dalaman Airport we had to take a taxi to the hotel (still fighting to get the fare back) Did not see a rep the whole time we were there. Would go back to Turkey but with a different company

i went to turkey last year with my parents and my brother and had a fantastic time despite a couple of upsets to do with the hotel staff making passes at me and getting samenella poisoning. i met a couple of girls my age and we went out clubbing every night around olu deniz and hisoronu. i am hopefully going back next year with a friend but am going to be very cautious of the men around me as i found out that the bar staff have a key to the rooms in the hotel. the beach is lushious and there is always something to do. the heat is amazing and i got such a tan. i was so upset to go home. if you planning on going to olu deniz then the buzz bar is a great place to go for a drink or two and they have a web cam so your friends and family can watch you in the bar. my mum saw her friends in there =). the lagoon (paid beach) was very disapointing and i preferred the normal beach a lot better so we never visited there again. fantastic holiday!
